I was born in Pennsylvania and raised in a family where faith and service were part of everyday life — my father a PC(USA) pastor, my mother a nurse and advocate for vulnerable families. After graduating from Eckerd College, a mission trip to Nicaragua confirmed my call to ministry. I earned my Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond and served in church as an associate pastor in education and mission before becoming pastor of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Indiana, Pennsylvania, in 2006.
I love being part of a faith community and getting to know people in every season of life — listening to their stories, celebrating their joys, and offering care in times of need. My ministry rests on the conviction that we belong to a God of unconditional love, that Christ is at the center of our life together, and that the church is called to worship, service, and reconciliation.
My wife, Brenda, and I have been married since 1998. We are grateful for our children, Katelyn (and her husband, John) and James, and their grandson, Henry. Family is my greatest joy.
Outside of ministry, I enjoy “trying” to fly fish, disc golf, wide-ranging reading, walks in nature, quiet time with Brenda, trips to Puzzle Lake in Ontario, and Steelers football — though my grandson is being raised an Eagles fan, which makes the Eagles a close second.
At the heart of my faith is a simple, beautiful truth: we belong to a God of unconditional love. Through Jesus, God is healing our broken world, reconciling each of us to God’s self and to one another. Grace meets us right where we are, gathers us into community, and sends us out to love and serve — especially alongside the vulnerable. Faith isn’t just about what we believe; it’s how we live out our love together, held by a God who will never let us go.
